Counselling and Therapy for Adults
"Our true identity is a process, not a substantive thing. Thus we are continually changing. The effort to remain unchanging is crippling and results in a smaller life.” ~ James F. T. Bugental
At certain points throughout adulthood, we can find ourselves stuck in some way or questioning our place in the world. I have worked with adults from all walks of life from the young at the beginning of their career path and navigating relationships, to older clients who are trying to understand what is meaningful for them in the later years in life or lonely looking connection. I have worked with clients struggling with navigating marriage, divorce, careers and children, or those who have reached a point of wanting to acknowledge some difficult histories and traumas. Sometimes though, it might just be about how you feel. Perhaps all the boxes of what you have ever wanted have been ticked but something is missing.
In session, I listen to how you are and what your particular situation is, in a safe space. What you say is treated with respect and kindness. Therapy takes place in a calm and confidential setting where we can explore together your thoughts and feelings patiently and without judgement.
Led by you, we may explore together how your past experiences and society may have impacted you, how you feel and who you are; and to be in the here-and-now of all of it. Please also read ‘How I Work’.
